Trying something new: Burlesque

Trying something new: Burlesque

Happy Sunday everyone!

Hope you all did well on this first week of the year πŸ™‚

As I anticipated on my previous post, one of my goals this year is to β€œtry something new every month”.

It doesn’t mean that you need to wait for the first day of the year to be ready to work on all of your goals, actually I was so excited that I started adding goals on my list from September and last month I decided to try something new and I wanted to try something that I would never choose: Burlesque lessons.

Yes, you read it right! Burlesque!

When my friend proposed me to go and join burlesque lessons, I had to think about it for 2 weeks. Every time I would be stuck doing a list of why this wasn’t a good idea and β€œnudity” was one of the things that were always coming out. Then I read this quote:

β€œStepping out of your comfort zone and trying new things is the best way to grow”

So here I am talking about Β what I learned during my 3 lessons of Burlesque:

  • Nudity

I am sure, I am not the only one who thought β€œ Burlesque = naked dancers”. Well, don’t panic! It’s nothing like that! Burlesque is the art of teasing, so there’s no nudity unless you want it!

  • Being confident in your own skin

The burlesque dance studio is like any other dance studio so you are dancing watching yourself in front of the mirror, but this is not just dance moves, this is dancing and teasing all together. Let me tell you, that is so difficult! You need to be self-confident and accept/ love the way you look in order to not look weird in there.

  • It’s not just for women

This was the biggest surprise ever! Well, the truth is: also men are teasing in real life πŸ™‚

I would suggest everyone to try and have at least one lesson of burlesque, just to challenge yourself and see how confident you are in your own skin, plus it’s a lot of fun and a great activity to meet new people! Sincerely talking, I would have never imagined I would learn so much in just 3 lessons!

All of this I learned it with Burlesque Vibe (this is obviously not a sponsored post) but to have more info check this link πŸ™‚

Well, that’s all! Hope I gave you another idea to add on your bucket list activity.

See you soon!
