Milan: Mondadori Megastore

Milan: Mondadori Megastore

Welcome back everybody! And welcome to our second post of this series “The bookshop tour”!

We already published the first of this series and you can find it just by clicking here. From London, we spoke about Forbidden Planet which specialized in manga, comics, sci-fi and fantasy books. Now, let’s move to Milan where J lives!

And we thought ‘why don’t we start with the most known bookshop in Milan?’ And we are talking of the Mondadori Megastore situated right next to the Duomo of Milan, which is the heart of the city.

mondadori

It’s called Megastore because, in fact, it extends up to the third floor and goes down to minus one floor. It isn’t only a bookshop but there are, also, floors dedicated to gifts, marketplace, technology and music.

Ok! Let’s start with the third floor and let’s go downwards, just like I am giving you a tour hehe.

So this is the floor where you can find CDs, DVDs, vynil records and the complete seasons of the most famous TV series. Seriously EVERYTHING! Even old movies!

On the second floor there is everything that is connected to technology, so speakers, earphones, vynil players, smartphones, PCs, printer inks and there is even a game stop where you can buy videogames and consoles.

Now to the first floor! Gifts is what they called this floor, I called it my destruction. Here there are candles, fresheners, humidifiers, backpacks, mugs and STATIONERY! (My mom was with me and she, seriously, was pulling me downstairs!) Oh and to top it off, there is also a coffee place!

Let’s go downstairs to the floor zero where is located the entrance of the megastore. Nothing really interesting in this floor. Apart from the big wall of the magazines, there is another coffee shop.

And now, for the floor that you all be waiting for! The floor where you will probably spend hours and hours without even noticing. The floor where the magic happens! Magic because once you enter, there’s no turning back.

It has a great variety of books as you can see from the photos below.
