It wasn’t my first time in London, but one of the most exciting things I’ve always wanted to do was to visit the Sky Garden.

Sky Garden offers spectacular views of London on the skyscraper 20 Fenchurch Street, best known as ‘the walkie-talkie’ because of its shape. It extends in three storeys where there are three restaurants and two bars and you can visit it for free!

To visit the Sky Garden you will just need to book online with a three weeks advance and because the visit it’s free, it’s usually fully booked, especially on weekends.

We booked the last slot that you can get which is at 5pm. On our arrival, we’ve waitedย in a queue for five minutes to be checked in and then took the lift to get to the 35th floor.

The first thing we saw when we got at the top is a huge open terrace where you can enjoy the view and the fresh air. The first thing you can see is the tallest building in the United Kingdom, the Shard, in all its glory.

Walking down the terrace we saw many famous spots of London like the Tower Bridge, St. Paul’s Cathedral, London Eye and the HMS Belfast.

We then began our way to the upper floors where we have the view of the opposite side. We found the 30 St. Mary Axe, best known as ‘the Gherkin’, and 122 Leadenhall Street, best known as ‘the Cheesegrater’.

On the top floor there were also many seatings where you can really enjoy the visit. Even though the visit should be long just for one hour, most of the visitors stayed longer to enjoy the view and some had also some nice drinks at the bar. Since it was a Monday evening and it’s wasn’t really busy the staff wasn’t strict about the timing and reservations at the bar.

Despite the grey clouds, we were really impressed of the views and if we have the chance to go back to United Kingdom we will surely go for another visit to the Sky Garden, maybe next time with a meal in their restaurant.

How about you? Have you ever been to the Sky Gardens? Do you have any recommendations for nice viewsย  in London or anywhere else in the world? Don’t be shy and tell us about your experience ๐Ÿ™‚
