When I was in University I was always wishing to start to work and do whatever I want. Well, then I started to work and I still didn’t have time for anything. I didn’t have time to buy some grocery, no time to cook, to read, go out with my friends and my room was always a mess.

My holidays from work were more like a break from my normal job and a week full of tasks that I accumulated over the months and it was now impossible to procrastinate. Not talking about how miserable I was feeling about myself.

Strange thing was that I had time to update my status on all my social media, spend hours on youtube or just listening to music.

Then few types of research made me understand that organization is all about self-discipline.

There is this sentence that I always used to say “If only I had more time, I’m sure I could reach my goal”, but then I heard this quote that changed my life: “What you are and what you become depends on how you use your time, the millionaire and the beggar both have 24 hours a day, all are given the same amount of time. And you can control how to use it.” I’m not sure who said it, but this made me understand that the people who procrastinate less are the one who achieves their goals.

Something that is really difficult for us to understand is that discipline is not a punishment but it’s a training that helps us being productive even when we don’t feel like it. Unfortunately, we will never feel like this is the right thing or the right moment, because whenever we try new habits or new experiences we are always feeling uncomfortable or sometimes you will also feel ridiculous and right at the beginning you are ready to give up. Why is it so difficult to commit to doing something so small that could change my life? I think the answer to this question is easy, it is just because of a new experience or a new habit, it, in fact, new and whatever is new for us means “change” and to change our lives feels scary. But if you know that these decisions can improve your life, you should feel more fear in staying always at the same point when you know you can be better.
